About Nageiredo and Sankei Tozan
Mt. Mitoku is a considered a place for training, and some parts of the trail are steep and require climbing over rocks and tree roots.
Because falls and other accidents do occur from time to time, we check that the clothing and shoes of those intending to climb are suitable before you set off.
It is recommended that climbing shoes without metal cleats or studs be worn. Visitors may not be permitted to climb in some types of shoes, including sneakers.
If you are not allowed to climb the mountain because of your shoes, you may be permitted to climb if you change into waraji straw (straw sandals; fee charged).

- 2Exercise caution, as some parts of the trail are steep and dangerous.
- 3Please wear appropriate clothing. Skirts and slacks should not be worn.
Shoes should be outdoor shoes or hiking boots with adequate grip. (Metal cleats and studs are not permitted.) - 4Packed lunches may not be taken with you.
- 5It is recommended that you wear a backpack so that you do not have to hold luggage in your hands.
- 6Climbing is prohibited in the rain or snow.
- 7Please take care with your valuables and belongings.
No responsibility is accepted for any loss of belongings on the trails or injuries while climbing.

If visiting the Hondo, please pay the mountain climbing fee at the visitor information counter.

Climbing to the Nageiredo
If intending to climb to the Nageiredo, please complete the necessary application procedures at the office at the back of the Hondo.
Admission fee: Adults: 200 yen, Elementary/Middle school students: 100 yen
(In addition to the climbing fee)
Reception hours: 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Note: Starting at the reception office, a return climb will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.
Entrance to the Hondo requires an additional fee (Adults: 400 yen, Elementary/Middle school students: 200 yen) on top of the Nageiredo entrance fee.
Please be aware that the opening hours for the Hondo are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
